Approach / Audience first

The audience first.
Every choice after.

A clear message. Prepared people. One cohesive show.

    01

Start with the objective and the audience.

I want to understand what the client needs people to know, feel or do. On an enterprise sales kickoff, that means supporting the business message while keeping executives, sales leaders and the show aligned. The audience should not have to work to find the point.

    02

Make it feel like one show.

A rundown is more than a list of presentations. On the sales kickoff, I owned the run of show, worked with presenters on timing and managed transitions as priorities shifted. Those connections are what keep the program moving without putting the pressure on the speaker.

    03

Direct the conversation, not just the cameras.

At TEN Events, I served as technical director and lead show caller. My news background taught me to follow what is being said and anticipate what comes next. Camera choices, reactions and the timing of a transition should help someone follow the conversation, not pull them out of it.

    04

Produce for the people watching remotely.

A virtual audience deserves more than a feed from the back of the room. In production management at TEN Events, I worked on remote-controlled signal acquisition and distributed broadcast workflows. I want the in-person and remote experiences to feel connected, with clear content and intentional direction for both.

    05

Connect the creative to the execution.

On the TEN Events brand relaunch, I led concept development, messaging, visual tone and execution. On the studio build, I pitched the environment and led its design around the production and business needs. The creative idea and the technical plan have to support the same purpose.

    06

Protect the content when budgets are tight.

I protect the message, the speakers and audience clarity before spectacle. A production choice earns its place by helping people understand or experience something. More technology is not automatically a better show.

Production philosophy / Content before spectacle

    07

    Treat production as hospitality.

For the healthcare advocacy event, I coordinated with presenters, vendors and internal teams around a respectful experience that let the message lead. Looking after a nervous speaker, respecting a crew’s time and helping a client feel confident are not separate from production. They are part of it.

    08

Prepare the team. Leave room to adapt.

Clear structure and communication early make live decisions easier later. On the sales kickoff, that meant speaker readiness and adapting to shifting priorities. In the studio, it meant reliable, intuitive workflows for operators and visiting clients. Preparation gives people room to solve the unexpected together.
